What do we do when things feel impossible? Unanswerable?

When there is no immediate solution… and yet so much need remains?

We widen our capacity
to be with that which cannot be
fixed, solved or explained away.

We have all been there — a beloved client enters our space & brings something so heavy, so hard, so impossible that we just don't have the embodied capacity to meet it with skill.

Try as we may, our threat responses enter the room & take over…

  • We rush in, offer advice and try to fix the issue (soothing ourselves in the process)

  • We speed up, give more information–share counter arguments, potential solutions & positive perspectives

  • We collapse into old shapes–taking on the difficulty in our bodies, merge where there was once healthy differentiation & embody the somatic energies they bring

  • We fight against reality, pathologize and give overly simplistic labels for deeply human experiences

  • We fawn, aiming to "relate" and soothe the other without truly understanding the subjective experience of the unique individual sitting in front of us

  • We dissociate and move into a professional functional freeze

  • We know how to say all the right things in faux regulation

  • We feel shame, overwhelm, embarrassment–like an impostor

  • We leave a day of (really good) work exhausted & needing to numb out

Isn't it our job to solve this pain? (It's not.)

All of which keeps us from real relating.

All of which is us soothing our own discomfort. All of which the client can feel.

My beloved friend, it's sooo human to experience the edges of our capacity when it comes to holding space for life's most challenging topics. Especially if we have not met our own impossible.

Meeting our edges with life's impossible topics is inevitable — the question is whether we are ready to bolster our skill and widen our capacity.

Imagine now that the impossible is held inside a wide base of support.

You alone, the practitioner, don't have to solve, fix or alleviate any pain. Instead, your job is to stay in resonance — to open wider to the pain, as well as the support all around.

The client feels your presence and is soothed.

Their pain is welcomed without fear of being "too much."

They feel recognized in their unique experience.

The solution for the impossible arises — not because you said the "right thing" but because your embodied presence has made a miracle:

The correct conditions have now arisen for the client to digest their experience in a small, doable piece.

Through your somatic skill & capacity, you open them to more.

What I've found, again and again: the most powerful practitioners are the ones who've deepened their own felt-sense relationship to safety, presence & vitality first. Who don’t just know about somatics, but embody the wholeness so fully, miracles are created in their presence.

In Relating to the Impossible, you will develop the inner tone to sit with chaos, fragmentation, distortion, terror, grief, rage… without getting lost in the momentum of the other.

⋆꩜˚⋆You will bolster your energetic boundaries & protect yourself from taking on what clients bring–without guarding against, bracing or dissociating. You will learn to remain open, resonant and available to whatever the other brings.

⋆꩜˚⋆You will explore an ecosystem of More Than Human support for resourcing, stabilizing & soothing your own somatic body, so you can offer presence to the other, while staying with yourself.

⋆꩜˚⋆And through this new way of relating to difficulty, you will deepen your understanding of circular leadership–keeping your humanity in the room & maintaining a strong Self while honoring role clarity.

Develop the skill, capacity and somatic sovereignty to be with the impossible.

It’s so clear that our culture lacks the skill, rituals, capacity & tools to be with the hard parts of life. I’m sure you’re witnessing it, too:

Relational tensions & fallouts. Avoidance & scapegoating the vulnerable. Political unrest & tech giants that care nothing for our earth or our humanity. Increasing collective grief & despair.

All of these & more leave many helping professionals at a loss… years of "inner work" and still, so much remains undone & fragmented.

Centuries of colonialism, capitalism & patriarchy have stripped us of our rituals, our grief, our rage, our ability to be with one another in life's most impossible circumstances. Even healing professionals are burnt out from living inside of the conditions which harm their own clients.

Learning to Relate to the Impossible is the emergent skill we need to hold opposing truths, double binds & what feels hopeless.

Join & develop your capacity to stay here & now.

What does the education include?

It’s likely you already know so much. Which is why this training is educational and experiential. Each call will include a 25 minute lesson, with an hour of active somatic practice with guidance and supervision, group process & integration. Coaching will be offered in real time when necessary.

You will be learning and applying the skills and tools in real time, which are rooted in somatic, mystic and shamanic (Earth-based) wisdom.

Each call will include a topical theme, a skill & theory with choice as to how deep you go with that difficult topic.

You will leave this training with the principles & foundations of creating the right conditions to stay present with the impossible, and the embodied skill to actually do it in real time.

You will leave this 3-month experience with live practice of every tool offered. You will receive handouts, a short reading list, as well as a handful of podcasts.

I draw from my training and experience in the following modalities:

  • Shamanism, Earth Medicine

  • Sacred Enneagram

  • Alchemical Alignment

  • IFS

  • A lifetime of depth study in movement including: Martial Arts (Hapkido), dance & yoga RYT 200

  • Quantum Coherence & Biodynamics

  • Foundational Leadership Coaching & space holding skills from over 12 years as a coach with multiple coaching trainings. Read my full credentials on my about page. :)

    ⋆꩜˚⋆

Is this a certification?

Nope. This is a practice lab for embodying somatic safety & resilience — not a certification. This is a container for active skill development & somatic capacity building. This does not qualify you to coach, teach somatics or trauma-informed skills.

⋆꩜˚⋆

Is this a space to process personal grief?

We are not doing personal therapy/coaching in this space— we are developing skills, tools and active practice to sit with the topic itself and what it brings up inside of us as Adult Professionals.

That being said, personal content comes with us everywhere and is likely to arise when we sit with difficulty. Be mindful of adequate support needed outside of the training to digest personal grief that is arising. I will have space for 1-1 sessions for support if desired.

Impossible topics we may sit with include the personal, familial, systemic and existential.

You will get to choose the level of "impossible" you have capacity to sit with. Included but not limited to:

  • Chronic pain, illness or diagnosis

  • Poverty, job loss, toxic capitalism

  • Single parenting, divorce, betrayal, loss of relationship

  • Death of adult, child or infant CSA, active abuse

  • Climate grief, AI, techno-authoritarianism

  • Identity wounds such as: unbelonging, orphan archetype, marginalization, neurocomplexity, racism, homophobia, ableism & more.

"After six months together, my work with Madison has created new opportunities to see imprints that were not obvious to me earlier. I supplement our work with plant medicine, and her ability to understand my experience has been invaluable. The result (so far) has been a shift in self-perception, a realization that holding so much is no longer serving me, and a welcome entry into my Softening and Receiving Era. For healing leaders, Madison holds fierce space in perfect equilibrium—strong and confident, empathetic and attuned."

— Kelly C.

"I worked with Madison almost 10 years ago, and that experience was transformative, so when I reached another threshold moment in my life, I knew I wanted to work with her again. What delighted me most was the container she created. It held enough space for me to truly meet myself.

Her gift for asking exactly the right question at the right moment elicited an awareness in my body I wouldn't have noticed otherwise. And her ability to sit in silence with me— that was unreal. I couldn't have met myself the way I did without it.

I developed deeper self-trust & the awareness to notice when I'm trying to jump midstream into what's next, without taking the time to prepare and integrate what has already happened.

The people around me are noticing too: that I'm grounded in my own energy and don't dissolve in interactions where the attention turns toward me. That I feel more at ease in my own body. That my energy feels stable and magnetic.

Simply put, this was life changing, grounding and affirming."

Hi, I’m madison!

I’m a queer femme who practices Evolutionary Somatics— a practitioner weaving the imaginal, Earth medicine and nervous system education together to support vitality, wholeness & individuation.

I have a robust private practice & gather twice a month with my online membership community, The Fortress. My work supports folks to access their innate dignity, full expression and wholeness using ritual, self-inquiry and somatic practices.

This program is informed by my training as a leadership coach, somatic practitioner & professional mediator. A special nod to the tools I learned in NLP & hypnosis, Wisdom Enneagram, Alchemical Alignment Training— Somatic Tools for Trauma Resolution and Embodiment of Spirit, Shamanic Mentorship with Karen Duncan, Quantum Coherence & Biodynamics, as well as ongoing somatic education on pre & perinatal timelines, death and threshold crossing.

“Madison is a seer of truths. I can always depend on Madison’s keen sense of perception and her ability to speak powerfully to what’s really going on. She is a skilled coach with a generous spirit, a brilliant mind and a fierce willingness to walk her talk. I would follow Madison into a fire. I feel privileged to call her a colleague and trust her deeply both as both a collaborator and as a friend.”

— Varia Erochina

It's challenging to describe Madison's work with words, as it exists in a transcendent and magical space between knowing and not knowing. T

hey beautifully and gently open a space for me to access my intuition, my body's wisdom, and my more-than-human guides.

My sessions with them have helped me to access embodied knowledge that goes beyond my own lifetime and I often find that just one session with Madison helps me to synthesize ideas, feelings, and embodied patterns through a slow and intuitive process that feels delightfully moving, beautiful, and honestly, psychedelic.

After years in talk therapy, a modality mostly centered around analysis and the mind, I was ready to engage in work that was more deeply rooted in my spirit and my body, and I'm beyond grateful that I found Madison to guide and support me in this work.

—Abigail

I’ve had the privilege of working with Madison on and off in various ways for a few years now. From 1:1 work to groups, she consistently shows up with deep presence, crystal clear communication and a wealth of knowledge that I feel I am continually learning from. As a therapist who has worked with many different practitioners, I can honestly say that Madison is one of the most naturally skilled people I’ve encountered in being fully present and responsive to whatever arises in the moment.

I experience her approach as playful, curious and laser focused. She is an expert seer, and I’ve always felt deeply witnessed, heard and held by her. Madison’s training in alchemical alignment, somatic work, knowledge of the enneagram combined with the depth of her lived experience and ongoing personal exploration, is woven seamlessly into her work—it’s something you can really feel when you’re with her.

There aren’t many practitioners I find myself returning to again and again, but Madison is absolutely one of them and will continue to be. Words cannot express fully my appreciation for her, but I hope this scratches the surface.

In service to those who want to–

⋆꩜˚⋆ deepen their own capacity to lead, relate & serve (personally and professionally)

⋆꩜˚⋆ be mirrored and seen in their Essence — not their safety strategies

⋆꩜˚⋆ grow capacity & resilience in difficult times without bypassing or bootstrapping

⋆꩜˚⋆ show up fully for your work — do what you came here to do & do it damn well.

⋆꩜˚⋆ Live at the leading edge personal & transpersonal evolution

The biggest shift I experienced was a deepening of self-trust. I came to the program searching for answers, I wanted someone to point out my blocks and help me get unstuck. What happened instead was a much deeper spiritual journey into trusting my own timing, wisdom and knowing. If you are contemplating working with Madison, I would say trust your body. On a surface level, I couldn’t exactly identify why Madison and I would be a good match: our personal histories seemed really different, I’m not a coach or in the entrepreneurial world. But my body knew something about the support I needed and I found exactly that.
— A.R.
Madison creates a space that allows for exploration of the truest, most vulnerable parts of ourselves, a space that feels safe for these parts to emerge, be held and celebrated. I found a part of myself that I didn’t know I was searching for — a part of me that had been deeply hidden away for too long.
— SM
My time inside this container has been nothing short of completely transformational on every level. I’ve been the recipient of a lot of incredible coaching over the years, but nothing has brought out more of my own inherent goodness and wholeness the way that my time with Madison.
— KK
